How is yeast infection prevented?

Yeast infection or also known as candidiasis is an embarrassing problem. It’s itchy, painful and can get pretty smelly. Just imagine trying to hide this condition by stopping yourself from scratching. But, how can you hide it when everyone else can smell it? It’s gross and you surely don’t want to end up having it.

Prevention is always better than cure yeast infection can be prevented. If you think you’re prone to suffering from it then you must do the necessary steps in order to avoid it. Really, you wouldn’t want to have it.

Yeast loves warm and moist environment so it’s a must that you must keep your groin area clean, dry and cool. This also applies to other parts of the body that can suffer from yeast infection such as the armpit and under the folds of the skin. Using an absorbent powder is effective in keeping the surface. Make sure you wear clean underwear all the time to avoid the infestation of bacteria, fungi and yeast that could get really nasty.

You must also wipe the right way. And the right way is from front to back after you have a bowel movement. This is common knowledge but this is very important especially for the ladies. Not only will you end up with a yeast infection from wiping from the back to front but this could lead to other infections. Urinary tract infection can also result from this error.

Sanitary pads and panty liners should only be used when needed. When you’re having a menstrual period or you’re secreting white blood then that’s the only time you must wear these. Make sure you change pads and panty liners every few hours to prevent the yeast, bacteria and fungi from thriving and multiplying. Many cases of women who suffer from a yeast infection have been using panty liners every single day. Panty liners are good for keeping your external genitalia dry during these wet days but it contains chemicals that are not always good for the genitals. Give it time to breathe by not wearing them when they are not needed.

You must also avoid irritation or cuts. Your genital area should be kept safe from irritation and scraps or abrasion. Once an opening is present, this makes it much easier for the yeast to invade and thrive. If you are using a product that causes an abrasion to your private organ or to the armpit or other possible areas of the body where yeast can thrive, stop using it. This can include toilet papers or laundry detergents or deodorants.

Do you know that yogurt is also a powerful tool to help prevent yeast infection? You can actually use yogurt to treat yeast infection but consuming a cup of yogurt every day will help in preventing yeast infection. It’s delicious and good for you.

Do take note that yeast infection won’t just affect the groin area as yeast could thrive on your armpit too and other parts of the body where it’s warm and moist. Make sure to keep your body clean by bathing everyday and keeping yourself dry. Also, there are products you can use to help you with your quest to prevent yeast infection.
